Watch: Pakistan’s legendry player set to make a debut in IPL
Since 2008, Pakistani cricketers have been banned from playing in the IPL, but now Pakistan’s fiery fast bowler is all set to light up the IPL. Mohammad Amir, known for his devastating pace, will be available for the IPL 2026 auction, as he is about to become a British citizen. This opens the door for Amir to make his much-awaited IPL debut. Watch a video for more details.
In a recent interview, Amir shared his excitement, saying, “I will have the opportunity to play in the IPL, and if the chance comes, I will definitely take it.”
Here’s where it gets interesting: According to IPL rules, if any Pakistani player gains citizenship of another country, they are eligible to enter the IPL auction. This was the case back in 2011 when Pakistani all-rounder Azhar Mahmood, after acquiring British citizenship, played for both Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders.
With Amir’s explosive skills, the 2026 IPL could be even more thrilling for cricket fans, as they may get the chance to see him in action!
