India make inroads into New Zealand in the Champions Trophy Final

India are asserting themselves against New Zealand in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Final in Dubai after the Black Caps made a quick start.

After 25 overs, New Zealand are 114/4.

Will Young and Rachin Ravindra both had some near-misses, but Varun eventually made the breakthrough lbw in the eighth over.

Ravindra’s promising start was cut short for 37 runs off 29 balls, bowled by Kuldeep Yadav, who then caught-and-bowled Kane Williamson two overs later.

Tom Latham was trapped lbw by Ravindra Jadeja for 14, leaving Glenn Phillips at the crease with Daryl Mitchell.
