Both India and New Zealand have won the ICC Champions Trophy before. While India won it twice in 2002 and 2013, New Zealand triumphed in the second edition of the tournament in 2000.
Interestingly, New Zealand secured their first and only ICC Champions Trophy title in 2000 after defeating India in the final with two balls and four wickets to spare.

India and New Zealand have met 119 times in ODI cricket. The Men in Blue lead the head-to-head between the teams having won on 61 occasions, while the Black Caps have emerged triumphant 50 times.
Seven matches between these sides have ended in no result and one was tied. In the Champions Trophy, both teams have one win each having crossed paths twice in the history of the tournament so far.
Currently, India are on a six-match winning streak against the Black Caps in ODIs.
