IPL 2025: KKR vs LSG Clash On April 6 In Kolkata Might Get Recsheduled, Here’s Why
The IPL 2025 is just knocking on the door. The next edition of the cash-rich tournament will begin on March with a match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
KKR amassed a very competitive squad, and the defending champions will be among the teams to watch out for. However, things might get complicated regarding one of KKR’s home matches at the Eden Gardens. The Kolkata-based outfit is scheduled to host the Lucknow Super Giants on April 6.
The match coincides with Ram Navami, which might create a security tangle for the authorities. Both occasions will need some stringent security arrangements and as per an India Today report, Kolkata Police has already sent a letter to the Cricket Association of Bengal citing their ability to provide adequate security for the match.
This has raised a serious question on the future of the match, but the West Bengal Sports Minister reportedly assured to provide any kind of help in order to provide a solution. Eden Gardens is also poised to host the Qualifier 2 followed by the much anticipated final game on May 25.
Both teams have added some much needed firepower in the IPL 2025 mega auction and the focus will be on Rishabh Pant who has been named as LSG’s captain for the upcoming season. Pant has emerged as the most expensive player in IPL history and the onus will be to end his team’s prolonged IPL title drought. On the other side, KKR announced Ajinkya Rahane as their captain and the Indian batter will be very eager to prove his mettle in the shortest format once again. KKR defeated the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2024 final to lift their 3rd IPL title and they are now the second most successful teams in IPL history.
